Marsal Education Emergency Fund is intended to help meet the financial needs of Marsal Education undergraduate and graduate students who encounter an emergency situation or one-time, unusual, or unforeseen expense during their degree program. We encourage students to seek support from Rackham Graduate School, CEW+, the Dean of Students. and the Office of Financial Aid prior to utilizing Marsal Education funding.

Awards may be awarded up to $1,500 each. Students should contact the Office of Financial Aid for help in evaluating specific individual financial circumstances.

Note: Students who qualify for and receive an Emergency Fund award may notice a reduction in other financial aid (grants, loans and/or work study). An international student, for whom support is granted, may have taxes taken out of the award (about 14% of the students' award).

The following funds are available to support your travel needs:

  • David Lee and Anna Wu Angus International Travel Fund ($1,000)
  • Heid Educators Abroad Scholarship ($1,000–$3,000)
  • Professor and Mrs. Cho-Yee To Fund ($1,000–$4,000)
  • Beatrice Rottenberg Global Studies Fund ($2,000–$3,000)
  • Fred B. and Edith Carlson Walcott Award ($1,000)

 Application Deadline:  May 2, 2025 by 5:00 p.m. for supporting work in Spring/Summer 2025.
The purpose of the Rackham One Term and Marsal Education Dissertation Finishing Grant is to support outstanding doctoral students during the term in which they defend their dissertations.
